Permanent Makeup FAQ
First, your ideal brow shape is meticulously drawn on using a system of precise measurements and the artist’s skilled eye. Then, after your approval of the shape, we determine the undertones of your skin and carefully select the pigment colors and modifier pigments needed to assure a beautiful color match to your natural hair. Then using a precise, sterile fine needle hand-held tool we create gorgeous hair-like strokes to mimic the appearance of a natural looking brow.
Microblading - all done by hand and applied in a manner that resembles real hair. This method creates crisp, clean hair strokes to mimic your natural eyebrow hair. This procedure is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows. This is the most natural looking raw look. Best on someone with fair skin with dark hair.
Powder or Ombre Brows - soft technique created using a machine. This look is a soft powdery natural looking brow.
Fusion Brow - using a machine - a more defined technique used to create more definition, a bolder brow, or to match no hair with hair depending on the area.
Erika will be able to determine what brow is needed based on your skin, hair, brow shape, and desired look.
Did we mention Erika was meticulous? She does not rush the procedure and it usually takes around 2.5 hours to 3 hours from start to finish. She takes her time with each client and keeps you informed at each step. Erika takes a long time getting the shape of your brow JUST RIGHT before she proceeds to the actual microblading. The same applies to other PMU services. After all, this is a tattoo on your face, and she wants to treat it as such.
You must be off of Retinoid products for at least 2 weeks, out of the sun for 1 week and there needs to be at least 2 weeks since you had any botox.
Also, you are not a good candidate if you are:
Pregnant or nursing
Diabetic
Chemotherapy (consult your doctor)
Viral infections and/or diseases
Epilepsy
Pacemaker or major heart problems
Organ transplant
Skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.)
Sick (cold, flu, etc.)
Botox in the past 2 weeks (can be done 2 weeks prior or after)
Typically, Microblading will last from 6 months to 2 years. However, everyone has a different lifestyle and different kinds of skin, therefore we cannot make any guarantees that your microblading will last any specific amount of time- nobody can, but if you wear sunscreen on your brows and do not use exfoliating products on your brows they will last much longer.
We do prenumb for all of our procedures, however, people who need more numbing at the dentist office will probably not numb as easily for us. There is typically a very minimal amount of discomfort if any at all! For most clients, it is pain free!
We strive to provide the absolute best services and of course that also means we use the best tools! All of our tools are individually packaged, single use, and adhere to the highest standards of sterilization. We also use and are trained in Li brand pigments, which are the best pigments on the market. They are molecularly bonded together so that when they fade, they fade in a consistent way and will not turn colors like other cheaper pigment brands. We also took an extra course in these pigments, color theory, and color correction so that we can ensure that you get a beautiful color match for your brows that stays true to color.
Brow shading technique is a perfect way to give your microbladed brows a makeup effect that allows you not to worry about shading them regularly. It wears off in a similar way to your microbladed brows. It' s the new and hot trend in the microblading world because it also allows the result to look absolutely realistic and lightly fill in the spaces in between the hairstrokes. The result is a fuller more realistic looking brow that doesn’t need makeup! The effect is basically the same you would achieve adding quality brow powder.
At this time it is the most popular option for my clients. You do not have to have it, but most of my clients don’t want to have to fill in their brows at all. Microblading alone is a very natural hair-stroked appearance, so if you wear full makeup every day you will still need to fill them in. Brow Shading takes care of that in a gorgeous and natural looking way! And I adjust the amount of Brow Shading to what look you want to achieve. It is buildable!
